Unique idea for a proposal

picture 78 Unique idea for a proposal

In case he hasn’t popped the question yet, but you think he might be getting ready to you might want to make sure he sees this. The Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History is opening a Live Butterfly Pavilion on Valentine’s Day 2008 and would like to invite one happy couple to “Feel the Flutter” by getting engaged among more than 300 live butterflies. The exhibit doesn’t technically open to the public until Feb. 15, so the lucky couple will have the pavilion all to themselves (with the exception of the butterfly onlookers) for the momentous occasion.

All the museum asks is that the couple allow the proposal to be photographed and videotaped for promotional purposes (i.e., distribution to the Washington Post, airing on a local television station and/or possible use on YouTube). Please note that all promotions will take place after the fact to guarantee that the proposal remains a surprise for the significant other.

As a thank you, the lucky couple will be invited to a VIP reception on the evening of Feb. 14 where celebrities, local officials, Smithsonian representatives and supporters will gather to celebrate the opening of the new exhibit (and their engagement, of course!). Anyone interested should contact Natasha Collins (natasha.collins@fleishman.com )for more details.
