If you are a wine enthusiast, or perhaps already have an established home with all the pots, pans, and gadgets you need think about registering for a selection of wines to stock your bar. At Bottlenotes you can select your favorite vintages and store them on your wish list, or receive recommendations from their staff and other readers.
Don’t worry, Bottlenotes isn’t a wine snob site. They cater to all levels of wine knowledge and their prices begin with an under $15 category (of course they do go up over $150 also.)
If you are hosting a shower for a bride to be, or perhaps a couples shower – why not consider throwing a Stock The Bar themed event. Bottlenotes offers a Barware Bridal Shower Kit ($124.99). Start the night with a glass of Champagne, then taste four delicious wines from around the world. While the bride-to-be opens presents with a “barware” theme, the guests can keep on sipping, enjoying the festivities while wine-tasting. The kit includes 5 wonderful wines, wine tasting notes, wine tasting mats, cocktail napkins, and gift certificates for each attendee. They will even send a guide with recommended cheese pairings. Each kit serves 10. If you would like even more personalization they are happy to help! Simply email bridalshowers@bottlenotes.com.
We love this unique Ring Bearer Bowl™ from Paloma’s Nest. You can customize the little white ceramic bowl with a special wording, a scripture verse, a line from a poem or simply your names and wedding date. Each bowl measures 3.5 inches in diameter and will fit perfectly into the hand of your ring bearer. It comes with a silky cotton cord laced through two holes near the top rim to safely hold your rings during the ceremony. You may chose to replace the cord with a ribbon to coordinate with your wedding colors.
We think this would make a perfect heirloom that could be passed to your children or other family members.
Who doesn’t love a scratch-off? There is always such great anticipation to see what you are going to find under the seal. How much fun to find out that one of your friends or family members is getting married?

One of the things that most brides tell me in our initial consultation is that they want their wedding to be unique. They want it to be a day that their family and friends will remember all the details of for years to come. When planning your ceremony and reception it is important to remember that no matter how lovely your ceremony and reception venues are, your wedding will look no different than the wedding the previous weekend unless you personalize it. You want to make the space “yours” for the night.
I like to think of your wedding day in a similar way to the start-up of a new company. You need to incorporate the things that make you…you. And then, create an identity for your newly formed “company”. One of the first things a start-up company does is to chose a logo that identifies them. Chose a monogram that can be used on all your stationary, on your cake and illuminated on the dance floor. There are several companies that will provide this service for just a few dollars.
One of those companies is I Do Originals . They will create a monogram and then incorporate it into aisle runners, table runners, your unity candle and on many other wedding day accessories. Now until Feb. 28th receive 10% off all items in the I Do Originals embroidery line! Enter code LOVE10.
This Portrait Wrap created by AlineArts is a perfect way for a stylish bride to keep warm while still looking beautiful. It is created in illusion tulle and has a lovely center piece satin rose. It has a hook closure in the front. This comes in four sizes and is available in white or ivory illusion tulle for $58.
I found the cutest favor tins from Littleput Books. They would be great with some mints in them. Ryan, the creative wonder behind these cuties, hand makes all of these but is able to do some bulk quantities with enough advance notice. She has many print options for you to choose from. Currently she is selling her things through Etsy, but her own website is coming soon.In case he hasn’t popped the question yet, but you think he might be getting ready to you might want to make sure he sees this. The Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History is opening a Live Butterfly Pavilion on Valentine’s Day 2008 and would like to invite one happy couple to “Feel the Flutter” by getting engaged among more than 300 live butterflies. The exhibit doesn’t technically open to the public until Feb. 15, so the lucky couple will have the pavilion all to themselves (with the exception of the butterfly onlookers) for the momentous occasion.
As a thank you, the lucky couple will be invited to a VIP reception on the evening of Feb. 14 where celebrities, local officials, Smithsonian representatives and supporters will gather to celebrate the opening of the new exhibit (and their engagement, of course!). Anyone interested should contact Natasha Collins (natasha.collins@fleishman.com )for more details.

Want to make your reception venue totally yours?
Try using wedding graffiti, which specializes in producing custom monograms and logos that can be applied to walls, floors, cars, favors, and many other surfaces.
Wonderful Graffiti is very thin pieces of matte vinyl that look “printed” when applied to most smooth surfaces. Your entire wedding graffiti design arrives on one sheet of transfer paper. Just tape the transfer paper into place, burnish it down and peel it away. Only the individual letters and graphic elements remain.
Wonderful Graffiti removes quickly, and won’t harm underlying surfaces.
Prices range from $24 for a simple 12″monogramto $395 for a 50″x 47″focal point for your wall.
